The second album in the discography, the correct name - W כ yaya, but I do not have a key. Despite its origins London group was founded by black musicians - four Africans (Ghana and Nigeria), and three people from the Caribbean (Grenada, Antigua, Trinidad and Tobago). Ghanaians Teddy Osei (saxophone), Sol Amarfio (drums) and Mac Tonto (trumpet) began its activities at home, but trying to world fame in the 60s moved to London. Osei first arrived there to get a decent musical education. In 1964 he founded the Cat's Paw, who played highlife, rock and soul. By 1969 Teddy realized that would be nice to introduce more of the black participants, and summoned to the aid of Sol and Mac. Other members of Osibisa became bassist Spartacus from Grenada, keyboardist Robert Bailey from Trinidad, guitarist Wendell Richardson from Antigua and Nigerian Lasis Amao (percussion, tenor saxophone). The first group mignon, Music for Gong Gong, proved a hit. The next three singles ("Sunshine day", "Dance the body music" and "Coffee song") visited the British top ten. The debut album "Osibisa" was a music with roots fatal abundantly seasoned with African rhythms. Group looked good live and managed to attract the attention of many fans. The popularity of "Osibisa" could be judged from the fact that the second disc, "Woyaya", took 11th place in the UK charts (and 66th in the U.S.), and the title track from this album did Art Garfunkel cover. A mixture of African and Caribbean melodies and jazz-rock and ritm'n'blyuza. Covers the first two albums did Roger Dean, the then little known.
